Overview

Lamar Deco sells tableware, home decor and gifts. The business is new, but the eye behind it isn’t. It grew out of a family shop that has been choosing these pieces since 2009. They came to us with no name on the shelf yet and no website, and they needed both. We built the brand from the ground up, then designed and developed the store to sell it.

Challenge

Homeware is a crowded shelf. Most brands in the space look interchangeable: soft beige, thin serif, stock lifestyle photos. Lamar Deco needed to feel warm and rooted without looking like everyone else. It also had to carry its family history without feeling old. On top of that, the brand had to work across a lot of surfaces from day one: packaging, print, social, and a store people would actually buy from.

The brand

We started with the logo. The mark is a stack of bowls, the most everyday object in the collection, drawn in simple geometric shapes. The family shop’s founding year sits beside it as “ESTD 2009”. The client chose to carry that date over, and it became part of the identity. The tagline, “Une présence qui s’installe naturellement”, sets the tone for everything else: calm, confident, never loud.

The palette comes straight from the products: sand, beige, terracotta, walnut and moss green. It is extended with cocoa, honey and clay for depth. Funnel Sans gives the headlines character, and Google Sans Flex keeps everything else clear and easy to read. From there we built a full visual language:

  • illustrations of tables, tea and gifting
  • patterns drawn from bowls, arches and zellige
  • a custom icon set
  • a decorative submark for small spaces.

Applications

We took the system everywhere the brand lives:

  • a social media kit
  • business cards
  • packaging for every face of the boxes
  • a poster series
  • shop signage and a tote bag
  • a 38-page brand guide, so the brand stays consistent long after handover.

The store

The store is built around how people actually shop for the home. Products are grouped into four clear worlds: the table, tea, decor and gifts. Each product page lets the photography lead, and every page suggests the pieces that complete the set. We designed the full journey on desktop and mobile:

  • browsing, filtering and search
  • cart and checkout, including guest checkout and a gift message option
  • customer accounts with order tracking
  • the brand’s story, FAQ and support pages.

Outcome

In six weeks, Lamar Deco went from an idea and a family history to a complete brand and a working online store. They now have everything they need to sell and to grow: a recognisable identity, a guide to keep it consistent, and a store that feels like walking into the shop.
